Pamphlet I received in the mail, courtesy of Brian Jean, MP.
"Sadly, distortion and inaccurate information is used in many anti-seal hunt campaigns. Radical activists wave around misleading information and wait for people to open their chequebooks in response. The east coast seal hunt is regulated, closely monitored, and humane. It is a vital part of fisheries management, and an important part of the income of many working families. You won't hear these facts from the lips of radical special interest groups, but that does not change the facts. Prime Minister Harper and the Conservative Government are standing with Newfoundlanders and Labradorians. This is about more than protecting a Newfoundland tradition. It is about fighting lies, propaganda and distortion. It is about defending the livelihoods of working people. It is about protecting our natural heritage. Most importantly, it is about standing up for what is right."

Please contact the following members of the EU in support of the seal hunt:

  • Excellent job.

  • @romika4 Thank you!

  • europe has the right to ban whatever they see fit.

its the newfies who brought this on themselves.

if the inuit dont like the ban they can find other less ethical markets (IE: CHINA) for their wares or failing that, go back to a subsistence lifestyle. their culture isnt in danger. theyve lived with minimal interaction with the outside world for thousands of years. i dont see how they wouldnt survive if they went back to that way of life.

  • @agricola The Newfies were doing just fine before the likes of Brigitte Bardot, Rebecca Aldworth, Paul Watson et al decided to start a money making machine. People the world over hunt and kill animals, the Newfies and the seals they kill are no different. Markets in China are already being considered. The Inuit themselves are claiming hardship with the EU ban. You probably don't see because you don't live there to understand it.

  • @Ersabette Lol, you know what would be interesting, the Deer hunt in Ontario is used to control the population and to curb crop damage and other reasons, and no one has an issue with that, yet many folks go haywire when the idea is changed to seals. Double standards are absolutely everywhere and its pathetic, these groups are just looking to make money off of people who are too stupid to do their own research.

  • @nathan2795 I prefer not to say.

  • @Ersabette what town in central

  • @kingryan1234567 do you know sheila and lee tremblett

  • Rod Coronado killed all the animals he claimed to save.

The Minks and reserch animals in the buildings he burnt were domestacated. breed in captivity. Not captured wild animals. Animals, particularly mamals need to be taught how to survive in the wild. You can not simply breed and release them.

    They will starve to death.

He was a tipical eco idiot engadging in emotional grandstanding instead of using reason to think things through.

  • Hi Mostly4Moderate, thank you so much for your comment, really appreciate it. Take care!
