@guitarbassdrumschool Well, basically what you are hearing is the guitar going through some processor and a really good amplifier. Unplugged the guitar is about as good as any Takamine in the same price range, and plugged in, it is as good as any 300 series Taylor, in terms of sound. Taylor 400 and up beats it hands down, unplugged and live, but then again you pay 3x less than those Taylors for this. I.E. - it is a good deal for what you are paying.
The guitar was originally available on four models. The D46SCEKIQ, J28SCEDLKIQ, EA20SDLKIQ and the D46SPCEKIQ. Since then all of those models have been discontinued but the IQ system does indeed live on in the WD140MCIQ. Same Preamp but in a much less expensive guitar.
(cont'n) But the just as you, I was well motivated by this video. The guitar it self
is beautiful, but with the added IQ system pickup (processor) in particular just pushed the sale. And guess what? Mine is in transit too. It arrives tomorrow afternoon. I will return ith my assessment. Jerry was using the D46SCE w/ the prototype IQ. Thing is, he was Only advertising the IQ sys in this video, he even added, "Look for it" but Washburn denied they sell it. I sure would like to find one for sale.
UPDATE: I just sold my Taylor 214ce guitar to buy this one. I pretty much bought the guitar based 100% on this video. I even wavered between the Martin XC1T and this guitar, but in the end decided this sounded better. It is in the mail right now, and I will update here, maybe with a video reply, once I can get a good recording done :) Thanks Washburn!!
I was wondering too, so I looked it up, after having observed the video when the camera man zooms out or backs up.
The guitar model is the D46SEC (the new version with the Quilted Ash sides and the IQ system) - there are two versions, so don't get confused. The old version has no LCD built in to the electronics

Brilliant Washburn. May I ask which acoustic is Jerry using in this video?
It would be nice to see this become more developed (Like a rate switching delay).
I can't wait to try these in the fall!
