PART 1 of 3:
Nutnfancys look at an in-service Beretta M9 service pistol. The M9 was one of the designs that helped change the world looks at semi-automatic pistols due to its reliability and demonstrated durability. It has amassed a generally excellent track record in service with the military but does have some drawbacks. I contend its overly large for the 9mm loading even when compared against other full size pistols, its entirely too heavy, has more complexity, and can be less reliable than the Glock and Sig designs (from my OWN experience which is irrefutablesaw it with my own eyesyours may vary). However it has a decent traditional SA/DA trigger, good accuracy, tough weather-resistant Bruniton finish, and good firepower. The open slide was a modification designed to help reliability but its overrated in purpose and other closed-slide designs have proven extremely reliable in equally dirty conditions. Nowadays the Beretta is a dated design that has been surpassed by lots of other handguns in the categories listed. Nutnfancy Likeability Scale: 5 out of 10

  • looks awsome tho!!! HAHA but like you said its kinda like a brick!

  • @45calibermedic he is huge on weight lol. he does not like his knives to be over 4 oz

  • @nutnfancy Did the weight bother you that badly? I'm just respectfully asking, of course. I know you have to carry a lot of other equipment.

  • @wildcatactual not according to what nutn was claiming

  • @manfromhell1234

    Because it's not.

  • @manfromhell1234 I think most will agree the G17 is a better combat pistol, but the US military demands certain safety features (understandly so) the Glock doesn't have. Namey a manual safety/decocker. Personally, I would prefer Glock in a combat situation.

  • I own a Glock 17 and it is an excellent weapon. If TEOTWAWKI hit and I could only have one gun, that's the one I'd grab.

But the Beretta is an awesome weapon. Size efficient? Nope. But my Glock 36 only holds one round less than a standard 1911 and is smaller and lighter. With a +1 grip it has the same capacity! There are many such .45 weapons out there. But do guys still buy 1911s? Yup.

The M9 is a classic. And hey, it was good enough for Martin Riggs and John McClane!

  • so why doesnt the government make the G17 the standard pistol is its "better" and costs less

  • @jshaneyboy nope

  • @jshaneyboy No, it doesn't. It will be an excellent gun for target shooting
