Burger was probably not abused or beaten. He is probably at the Vet's office and is freaking out because that is how majority of cats are when they are at the Vet. When he goes home he will be happy as a clam living a happy cat life.
Even dogs can have the same issue, it is called cage aggression.

That's an incredibly disturbing video...the cat is obviously stressed and distraught....and yes was probably beaten or abused...and is now most likely dead...since animals with that sort of behavior are generally not adoptable and are usually put to sleep...RIP Burger.
