  • Hey Mr. Langhorst, I'm a fellow Missouri history teacher like yourself, and I want to compliment you on a great idea for this lesson. I'm just curious though; where did you get that AWESOME large scale reproduction of the Constitution hanging on your back wall?

  • @edwardfillet Thanks for you kind words. The large scale reproduction of the Constitution was something I picked up about 5 years ago from the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia. I attended a NEH Landmarks of American History workshop there (any of these are awesome by the way) and at the end of the week they gave us some resources to take home. The poster was one of the things they gave us. I love it.

  • very impressive video..keep up the good work!

  • My teacher did this with us!! We totally fell for it!!!(:

  • This is pretty hillarious. My teacher told me about this video and it lived up to my standard.

  • Great job! I use the same "break up letter" example in my class. It also really helps to explain how we actually "broke up" with England on July 2, but then wrote them the "Dear Britain" letter on July 4.

  • What a great way of introducing students to this country's independence.

  • that is so smart! I wish my history teacher would do this.

  • Amazing job, Mr. Langhorst. This was a great "head fake" moment that Randy Pausch would have loved. Excellent job!
