Garbage "Shut Your Mouth" Kerrang! Awards 2002

Garbage perform a blistering version of "Shut Your Mouth" at the Kerrang! Awards in London, on August 26, 2002.

Is it just me or does the song sound much better live here than it does on any bootlegs? I don't know if it's just the audio mix from the TV broadcast or if Garbage gave the song a little polish for TV performances for the single.

Who wast that live drummer that temporarily replaced Butch Vig, shown here in this video?

Here it is Matt Walker (of Smashing Pumpkins late-90's era) who also played drums on Bleed Like Me album and filled in for Butch between June and Sept 2002.. and a few times when Butch wasn't available in Aug 2005.

They also had Matt Chamberlain (Tori Amos) play drums filling in November 2001 and May 2002. He played on a few tracks from BeautifulGarbage.

I completely agree. I think Shirl's voice opened up on Beautiful Garbage and somehow she reached a new level of emotional power behind her singing. The band is right on with this performance.

Interesting this is the case, because I think this was when Butch had nearly died on tour after contracting Hep. A (hence guest dr.), and the making of BG itself saw the beginnings of the band's implosion problems that led to their hiatus after this tour.

And yet, here is greatness at work. :)
