This is a pictorial representation of the five year project to restore my 1956 Studebaker Golden Hawk. This video just covers the body portion of the restoration. The engine, transmission, interior, and other mechanical components are not covered here. The car was purchased in October 1983 and it was completed in 1988.

  • Incredible transformation, Frank. Just curious if you want to share, how much did the restoration cost all together?

  • @maple1255 The restoration was done in the 1980s and when completed at the end of 1988 my total cost cost was $21,996.71, including the $2000 I paid for the car. I would consider some of that as maintenance, such as brakes, tune-up, hoses, etc. I bought the car in 1983 and to date have spent a total of #32,155.75 (give or take a few pennies). That includes about 10 batteries, 3 sets of tires, two exhaust systems and many other upgrades I felt I needed or just wanted.

  • @56sghor It sounds like you spent more than anticipated but it's a labor of love, I bet, the car looks fantastic

  • This car just oozes good looks. Very nice car.

  • That's the kind of car I'd love to own. Sporty yet classy.
