I fire off a "magnum" shell (Winchester Super X 3", 15 pellet load) from my Mossberg Maverick 88 Security model.

6lb shotgun + 3 inch shells = Crazy recoil! Notice the muzzle flash as well.

  • @paranoid19851 Sounds painful...I have a Mosin too and the thing kicks like a mule. Gonna try some light-ball ammo soon.

  • @paranoid19851 Heh it wasn't too bad, as long as you don't fire too many. One time we were messing around and bought a bunch of cheap birdshot ammo; I fired over 100 in under an hour. Made a nice little bruise, LOL.

  • Harsh recoil from the Serbu I mean, not the AUG.

  • Well then I must not be average. I must be extremely powerful.

  • #7-1/2 isn't half bad. Even 2-3/4" #00 is well within average human tolerances.

  • I still don't see what you mean. It is not as bad as people make it out. And thanks!

  • Nothing wrong with it. Just isn't something you'd want to do often. Hard on the wrist. I've fired 3" Magnum #00 one-handed out of a 590 with a Choate Mk.5 stock, but that had more forward weight than the 500 you shot. Nice VZ-58, by the way.
