Visualisation of variations in global sea level "anomaly" (difference from mean sea level) 2003 to 2008 from satellite altimetry. Though there is an average global upward trend of around 3mm/year from the satellite data and the global network of tide stations, this visualisation clearly shows some areas have higher average sea level rise than others.
