With the exception of 2 and a half months, Ric Flair was the NWA World's Heavyweight Champion in 1989. This was a transitional year for Flair as the NWA was under new management.

ric flair did an excellent put over of all people mentioned. The Greatest!

now I've watched some Flair promos in the past but I can safely say I think this is the first time in a promo he not only put his upcoming match over with his opponents BUT he even put a young Brian Pillman's match over at the end of this interview/promo
THAT is class and that is what WCW/NWA was before Hogan and his crew got there I firmly believe

I remember this Ric Flair speaking from the 80's.

@CraigJericho Yep. The first Clash was Crockett's revenge for Vince screwing up the first Starrcade to air on pay per view when he scheduled the first Survivor Series opposite to it. In fact the first Clash was, from top to bottom, a helluva lot better that Wrestlemania IV, which was on at the same time.

@lawmancpa u right my dude

@CraigJericho Starcade was the Wrestlemania equivalent, both PPVs. Clash was similar to WWF's Saturday night's main event....both were free and had some of the bigger names involved, just like a PPV.
The greatest of all time. Bar none.

Hogan, Sting, Funk, Rhodes, and all the rest... They all take a backseat to The Nature Boy. Flair > all
