John Schmidt teaches the fundamentals. A private lesson with John Schmidt. In this video John explains how to lock your cue on the stroke line and set your body up around that cue position. John has won many major events including the 2006 US Open 9 Ball Championship, 2009 Derby City Classic One Pocket and most recently the Super Billiards Expo Pro 10 Ball event with a win over Corey Deuel. He definitely knows what he's talking about
@chaos741 That's fine... if you need to start over to make the shot by all means start over. I think John's point is to get down with the alignment of cue and body exactly on the stroke line. He will make minor adjustments with his bridge to feel more comfortable and match the line of the cue (which he has already determined). If you adjust your bridge AND your cue you have a good chance to miss the shot as you have discovered. There's really a difference between the two.

If I need to adjust my bridge arm I have to start over. I can't adjust while already down on the shot. I miss about half the time if I do.
