secondly, you're all missing the point of this video, test Baker wasn't supposed to break the surface of the water. The bomb turned out to be more powerful than anticipated, and the atoll's lagoon too shallow. Far more radiation was released than planned and they didnt anticipate a blast wave either.
EMP has a greater effect on newer technology, effectively frying circuitry. Older technology that used tubes instead of circuit boards are immune to it. But cameras basically capture light and shadows on film, back then, they didnt need sophisticated electronics to operate... and they didnt really understand EMP back then anyhow.
sorry man maybe you r wrong i m pretty sure they had been warned against doing such thing. The truth is that japanese pilots had been send to investigate and then died. Moreover that kind of high level rad kills you almost... instantly few days to say.Me studing nuclear physics, trust me
Actually, I met General Tibbits a few years back- in the 1990s. Didn't have a lick of cancer.

In fact, EMP didn't become a known issue with atomic tests until the 1960s (I think) with "High Alititude Tests"- basically, nuking space. *S*

the pilots who dropped the bomb on Hiroshima decided to fly through the mushroom cloud a couple times, for "fun". Bastards died of cancer.
