Ballroom Dance Video- Bronze II Cha Cha
About this video: DVD available at www.grandballroom.com.
This Bronze II Latin DVD collection is the series that follows our Bronze 1 Latin series. It consists of five discs showing the International Style of Samba, Cha Cha, Rumba, Jive, and West Coast Swing. The four dances are a continuation of the Bronze 1 Latin videos while the West Coast Swing is taught right from the basic steps. Each DVD features Andy & Wendy Wong, owners and instructors of the largest dance studio in North America, teaching and demonstrating the steps exactly the way they do it in their hugely popular classes. Learn from these professionals who have taught over 15,000 students in their world-renowned dance studio, The Grand Ballroom. • Thanks for watching. The windmill is a Bronze Jive step which I do not have on video. I don't know what the 'Teddy Bear' is. I wish all the best in China.

  • The Sweetheart is a Gold figure, not Bronze.

  • @DancingDusenberry

You are absolutely right that the Sweetheart is a Gold syllabus figure but I chose to include it in our Bronze classes because of its simplicity. Likewise I teach certain silver steps in Gold class and Gold steps in Silver class in order to construct a class program that is continuous, logical, and both doable and challenging for our students. Thank you for watching.

  • Hello,

Thanks for your comment. The group that is shown on the video clip is the Sweetheart ending in fan position. It is definitely in the ISTD Fellow syllabus for International style Cha Cha . However, it may very well be a part of the American style Cha Cha syllabus since there are similar variations in both styles of this dance.

I hope this clarifies your enquiry.

  • This is a very interesting piece of music... it has a cha-cha beat but the chord progression is like 12-bar blues you'd hear in a jive... what's it called?

I just started dancing this year and I learned this step while mixing at practice with more experienced dancers. The difficulty in this step isn't the main component, I found, it was getting in and out of it. Thanks for the video, I will definitely give this ending a try.

  • Mr Wong,

I am teaching Latin dance to my High School students in China, and although I studied Latin dance in America many years ago, it is very difficult to get good instructional videos here. I have been unable to find a good demonstration of the Sweetheart step anywhere else, so thank you so much for posting this here. There are a couple steps I am still looking for, such as the windmill, and the Teddy Bear. I wish I could buy your DVD. I'm sure it's amazing!!

  • thank you so much
