First of all it's not shit it's chocolate everything that flies out of the TV set is from a commercial she saw, baked beans, laundry soap, chocolate. Second she isn't really rolling around in anything, she snapped from years of feeling guilty because she and the step dad made Tommy blind deaf and dumb.

never heard that before. until I stumbled onto this vid recently I had forgotten it was her in tommy. call me an ugly American but I remembered her more for her "beach bimbo" roles, and oliver reed as a "b" movie hammer film star. she can sure sing.

According to various sources, it was initially improvised but there was a break in filming as she cut her wrist on a piece of the broken champagne bottle (which was a real one) and had to be rushed to hospital to have several stitches. All the beans went 'off' in the meantime and had to be cleared up. Filming was resumed with fresh ones, but as props and the set were pretty much destroyed in the first take - and Ann-Margret had a bandage on her arm - the scene benefits from some clever editing.
