In a preseason game vs 3-time defending CCC champs Melbourne HS on February 12, 2009, Cocoa Beach HS senior Brian Johnson struck out FIVE BATTERS in one inning.
The first batter Kd, second batter Kd but reached base on a dropped ball (the batter, No. 1 had some wheels!), third batter Kd, fourth batter Kd on curveball but it reached the backstop and the fifth batter Kd.
Not too often you see five strikeouts in one inning. Johnson finished with 10 strikeouts in three innings.
He is ranked in the Baseball America Top 100 and is signed with the University of Florida.
@pokefan19191 its because the catcher dropped the 3rd strike twice and threw it away both times
