CORTO MALTESE (now in post-production)

The first Corto Maltese adventure begins in Mukden, Manchuria in 1905 -the height of the Russo-Japanese War. Corto (Matteo Ferreccio) and Russian deserter Rasputin (Dario Manghina), helped by American novelist Jack London (Marco Colledanchise), barely escape the nefarious warfare.

Two years later Corto finds himself in Ancona, Italy. Here he saves young Joseph Stalin's life from a mysterious killer. Chasing the killer, Corto finds out a line that conducts him to a lost chest, Tzarist agents led by a beatiful as deadly Russian Duchess (Valeria Pomponi) and political intrigues involved with the socialist movement.

Matt Movie Pictures presents "CORTO MALTESE", based upon the graphic novels by Hugo Pratt, directed by Matteo Ferreccio.

This live-action adaptation is completely an homage to Pratt's work realized with zero budget by 17-18 years old artists with no other purpose than having -and making- a lot of fun (no commercial purpose, indeed).

  • such a babyface

  • Maybe I will have a reason to learn understanding the Italian language.
