Hi I am a 10 week old Kitten named Roo! My people got me from the Northeast Animal Shelter in Salem. I have a special need called 'Radial Hypoplasia.' This means that my bones failed to grow properly. Our type of aliment has led us to being known as "Twisted Cat" and "Kangaroo Cat." As my bones are infact twisted. You can see my front 2 legs and paws are not able to straighten out, there is no joint, but just bone. I love to run and play, and hop about like a bunny, or a kangaroo. I am in no pain, infact I do not know that I am any different from any other Cat! I am very loveable, and love to Curl up on a Lap, I have a huge Purr and a ferocious appitite for playing and chasing things around! I will have a "Normal" Cat life, same life spand as any other, and I will be able to hop up and down from things and my back legs are going to be more powerful then any other cat without this disorder! We, my 2 sisters and I came into the shelter in a horse trailer full of dogs not in cages, we were hidden in the back in a small cage. The http://www.Northeastanimalshelter.org took us in with open arms. My name when I arrived was Ziggy, my sisters names are zelia and zoe. they are still living at the shelter. I will make sure my humans take plenty of video as I grow so you can see I am really no different then any other kitty! ps. Like my pose at the end!!

  • I am so sorry for your kitten I truly am.

  • @azgore1234 Nothing to be sorry about! He jumps all over everything, and plays with his brother Oliver! He is enjoying and living life!

  • How does he use the litter box?

  • @ShellsheCote We actually had to make a special box for him, he does use the regular litter box, but had to put a taller cardboard box around it will an L shape opening. Only because his front feet are bent, and he tries so hard to cover up his mess, that he ends up kicking the litter up all over the place.

  • Is Roo's RH more severe than most cats who have it? It seems like he is bent in more than some others I have observed here on Youtube. He certainly seems happy though, kudos to you for giving a special needs cat a loving home!

  • @woofiegrrl Both his front legs are bent in, and his tail has a bend in it. I think he is more "Twisted" then most. But he sure as heck does not know it!

  • Bless him!

  • @Jckojcko Hey my name is Oliver too!

  • Take good care of it, please.

  • he is so precious. i want to adopt a kitty like him. he will fit right in to our family :)

  • i had a wonderful dream last night about an orange cat with radial hypoplasia, his name was Lazlo. in my dream he has extended front arms and the right one was bent to the left. but the amazing thing was , his human taught him how to spell his name by drawing the letters out in the air with his arm. lol

  • about 2 months ago I took in a stray who walks with a limp. Now I realize she has short front legs, and her left leg looks a bit deformed, sort of as if her wrist bend back to far. However, she can run up and down the stairs no problem! She just doesn't jump up on anything. She is a sweetheart. Thanks for sharing the video!
