A 5 foot long big monitor lizard (nile monitor I'm guessing) is hunting for food to eat under the leaves and in the dirt. He finds a snake and munches it down. Nile monitor lizards are amazing reptiles. These lizards get well over 2 meters long at Lumpini park in Bangkok, Thailadn.

Usually I find these giant reptiles along the path at Suan Mokkh Buddhist temple in Thailand's south. Or really, just about any hike through forest or jungle in Thailand. Look how big that tongue is! Where does he PUT IT?

Monitors eat just about anything and they are eaten by large pythons occasionally. I saw a video where a monitor and a king cobra were going after the same food - I can't remember what the food was - but, the king cobra must be a scary site to the monitor because the big lizard just turned away and let the cobra have it.

  • are they like the kamudo dragon can thye kill a person?

  • @terickfic Every time I came upon one it has run off except in Bangkok in the park in town - they just ignore people and walk around by the lake. BIG 7 foot+ thick ones. I think they are not aggressive toward humans - ever. I've never heard of someone having a problem with one - causing injury. Anyone know any different??

  • @thaipulsedotcom you absolutely right.see my post above.I have killed 10 foot lizards also called GUISHAP in India. They are timid creatures except for the ones in Indonesia

  • I saw one that was about two meters in length, and it was fast! Once it ran off the road and into the grass it was played dead and never moved while we were there.

  • @thaipulsedotcom its 5 foot so its almost as tall as a average size human :O

  • @terickfic

Komodo dragons are actually a genera of Varanids (monitor lizards).

  • i wish i could by that lizard

  • @bknghiem yea they do have poison is just very small amounts of it so they cant actually kill with it

  • My friend and I saw one with his head stuck in a fence here in Bangkok and we had to help the thing.Horrible looking but not aggressive towards us. It was huge aswell, maybe 6ft long.

  • I see them here in Bangkok everyday too!

  • @fattommy16 it's a Bengal monitor, Varanus bengalensis nebulosus. That subspecies is also known as the clouded monitor.

  • Is that also known as a komodo dragon?
