  • Interesting that the Graf Spee which was sunk during it's first war cruise is better known than Admiral Scheer which was operational through out the entire war not being sunk until April 9th when the war was all but over for Germany.

  • @PotatoGunsRule Sorry it took ages to reply, yes i've met my grandfather (i see him regularly he lives in England) he talks about it sometimes, but he doesn't talk about the missions his ship went on

  • @Dudley185 Wow, your grandfather worked on the SCHEER? Did you get to meet him? Did he talk about the ship any?

  • @rickyt43515 thanks for the post! I read the book you mentioned and loved it! Thanks buddy.

  • I just finished reading the book on her, POCKET BATTLESHIP. (Thanks to the poster who mentioned it). I couldn't put the book down and knocked it out in my free time in just 3 days. It is worth the few bucks to get it.

  • @FOCKEWULFD9 You can still see her remains, or the outline of them in Google earth. She's actually not covered by buildings but a grass field about 500' from the waters edge in the Kiel shipyard complex. The ground has been sinking as she rusts and collapses. I believe she is upside down as as well.

  • The name of the book is "Pocket Battleship". I have an excellent copy of the hard back edition that I bought in 2007. Theodore Kranke was the Captain of the ship on it's historic curise in 1940.

  • I found a cheap copy of Krancke's book on bookfinder.

That live footage must have been taken from the ATLANTIS

  • I found a cheap copy of Krancke's book on bookfinder.
