I love dos gringos but c'mon guys! you can't diss Navy pilots, especially about the carrier landings....no crosswind or flare...that's true but the 3 wire IS a moving target that happens to be a small one, not to mention when the deck is pitching...Dos gringos is just jealous!

It costs ten times as much to conduct a carrier-based sortie than it does to conduct one from a land base.

The USAF actually stopped trumping that number around awhile back, because it costs three times as much to launch a USAF sortie compared to a USMC.
The cost effectiveness argument only works when you're the most cost-effective :)
