  • IMO punches are often thrown in combination. it appears as though you would be stepping into his left lead punch.

  • we were ISOLATING motions. Yes I do agree that they would usually throw in combinations. There are steps to deal with possible counters for counters.

  • That kind of footwork is effective if the opponent is static, just a single telegraphed strike. But not very effective against recounters.
