  • wine sucks cock, i got a pentium 4 and hd4650 and cant even play 11 year old game cs 1.6 lol

  • @Dramzul Well AMD doesn't have good support for linux so the drivers aren't great(or so I remember)... Try installing some other game that have linux binaries(ex. Woflenstein: Enemy-Territory) and see how it works...

  • @djtoxic35K i run Call of Duty Black Ops on ubuntu with no lag no problem obviously u doing something wrong ;) btw windows is for starters linux is the way to go, old crappy pcs perform on linux same or better then lastest rig out there with windows on it

  • @llXeOnll First of all this is World of Warcraft that I'm running here or am I wrong?

But at that time I made this video I had GForce 8800GT and Athlon X2 4200+ processor and with those it is pain to play black ops.. Or so I belive.

  • Wine

    Is

    Not an

    Emulator

    :)

  • (DirectX mode..) With OpenGL? I don't get it..

  • @cultrure Yeah it seems like it is an emulator. But it works in a different way. If it was an emulator it would be a whole lot slower.

  • @Chintendoeddman Well basicly it creates a platform on what can run mostly Windows programs so it can be think as an emulator. But as me, user, I dont see the difference between a compatibility layer and emulator.

  • @cultrure WINE doesn't emulate

    Wine

    Is

    Not an

Emulator (that is really what is stands for). It is a compatibility layer. Nice video. Except I hate that song at the beginning
