just wondering but have you ever used acrylic paint as a base coat i have the three basic acrylic paint colors (red, blue and yellow) but i don't have colorful nail polish and i'm contemplating using acrylic paints instead would you suggest it?

@ccloveskeys I wouldn't suggest it, the paint needs the polish to apply better. You could possibly use a clear of white base and then use the color you want to use though. :)

I've just done this. I really didn't think i would be able to but they look soooooooo cool! my acrylic paint wasn't that great though i had to keep going over them so the colour underneath didn't show through. :( but they're quite good for a first attempt. :D
