Wow! The more I hear Dolukhanova's recordings, the more I regret not having known her before her death and the more I admire her and think she was one of the greatest mezzos of the past century. Her voice had an immense range of warm colors, an amazing technique, true feeling and, above all, an excellent taste singing widely different repertoires, from Bach to Rossini to Tchaikovsky to Puccini. She was a stunning artist. I'm also, as always, amazed at the spiritual beauty of Bach's music.
