Anna Nicole Smith is gone. However, her memory lives on, in large part due to the media, which needed her as much as she needed it. Since her death, the newspapers and internet have been flooded with so many images, anecdotes, and analyses that the woman behind the icon has been largely forgotten. We've tried to cope with the loss by reflecting on the ways in which she has shaped each of our lives and by trying to gather some of the images and impressions into a portrait of a very complex and special person.
