  • TheWTFers -- The warranty on the Coda batteries is 8 years/100,000 miles. And yes, multiple studies show you will save money in an electric car vs. gasser. Coda has not announced a price yet, to my knowledge. Tack on federal tax credit of $7,500 and state incentives (like California's $5,000 rebate) and it'll probably cost less than a Prius. No one car is right for everyone -- you can keep your gas-dependent Corolla. I'll take an EV any day.

  • Good, but why was getting info out of this guy like pulling teeth?

  • @Thor17 Let's cut the guy some slack. He was an engineer, not one of their PR reps, and he had no idea I would be filming until I jumped in the car. Lots of people get nervous on camera. --

  • jormot -- Coda is using Chinese-built gliders. So, no, they did not design an EV from scratch, which is why it looks no more aerodynamic than conventional cars. But that does help keep the cost down. -- Sherry

  • Does it come with a surfboard rack!

  • Hi Dave,

Nice Video. Even nicer car. Right on.

  • seems better than the nissan leaf.

  • Coda has there stuff together in this sector and the driver from coda who was not into does a great job demonstrating the car, who needs a salesman or long answers when it's as simple as coda makes it. These guys get it when it comes to electric cars!

  • Got to side with reality here. The Coda looks exactly like a 2000 Civic but costs twice as much as a new Corolla. It'll be a tough sell, even in CA.

    We'll see...

  • $35,000??? No thanks. I got my self a new Toyota Corolla for $16,000. How long do you think those batteries will last after being discharged and charged again? You think you will save money? Maybe when this electric car will cost under $20,000.

  • @A785R...The CODA goes 20 miles more than the Leaf that makes all the difference for me since I travel 70 miles (freeway) per day. Too bad Nissan does not have an option to go a little further. Though I have read that Nissan is working on doubling the range and the the batteries almost ready...

  • Come on!!! get a better video out there CODA!!!!
