  • have you had any issues with the LED's? considering you got them really cheap

  • @olivasroofing Yeah sometimes. But I think it would happen with any of the LED's. The Third brake light one had to be replaced because a few of the LED's in the bulb went out. And One day I left the Map light on inside the truck all day. And when I came back it was flickering. But after turning it off, it is now back to normal. No big issues though! I replaced a few of them with brighter bulbs with more LED's inside them though.

  • looks awesome man! what about your dash lights? i have a 05 ford an the dash lights are all green.. anyway i can change those too??

  • @countryboy5996 Hmmm, I havent changed any Dash lights in my truck they are a nice blue colour. I like to keep most of the truck almost as stock as possible. Less is more sometimes. So can't really help ya there brother lol. And its a 2005 too, no idea about that year range

  • thanks for you help macaboo. a hid dealer asked this question,

Which bulbs do your DRL’s operate on? If they run off your H13 High/Low bulb then you will likely need to disable the DRL’s to run an HID kit – DRL’s typically operate on reduced/fluctuated wattage and HID’s need a constant 12V. Before getting an HID kit I would confirm which bulb your DRL’s operate on.

    do you know?

  • @638473jakef So what I did was... After about a month of turning the LIGHTS ON before I start the truck, now it seems to have "worn itself IN" and now I have no problems. Although I would love to have the DRL's disabled to save my HID bulbs. So basically all day long everyday I have my HID's Turned ON. But ever since that first Month, I have had NO problems with both bulbs turning on. **This Kit uses the power from ONE headlight only also. **

  • Did you also change the license plate lights? If so do you know what size they are?

  • I ordered these lights a few weeks ago on ebay and just got them. Front ones came and work perfect, one of the back dome lights came in, waiting on 2 more. When I installed the middle one (The one that comes on when you unlock the car) when it dimmed down and should have turned off, it just stayed on, very low, but on nonetheless. Is it maybe because I only have 1?

  • @macaboo I just put HIDs in my 07 FX4, The DRL module is bolted to the side of rad frame on the driver side. Literally within 14" of the driver headlight. Unplug it, than no more DRL. On auto during the day you have no markers or anything though, sometimes ill turn the dial to park lights just to get the markers so I will save the HIDs. In that position you can also have fogs on but yet no headlights. kinda cool. Love my HIDs. No issues with starting up, both light up right away.

  • Bro i got an 03 lightning, and my fog lights are alwasy messin up, sometimes the passanger fog light turns on and some time it doesnt, same goes for the driverside fog light, i have gotten the HID ballasts replaced and was working fine till now.. have u had any problems?

  • @638473jakef Okay so.. Heres what happened. For the First like Month of using the HID's - if you didnt turn the lights on before starting the truck, only one light would come on. and you would have to turn the truck off and back on to get 2 lights. IDEALLY it would be nice to disable the DRL's because of the lower voltage that they operate at. BUT I cant find any Dealer that will do that for me.
