  • Indeed it gets pretty busy around here! Even when the skies are clear and all the bugs have been fed, hatched, and filmed... There's oodles of footage to process, vids and stock footage samples to make and music to write. Somewhere, in addition to all the regular chores of life, I like to fit in some eating, sleeping, movies, getting out in the field to film wildlife and nature. Fortunately I clean as I go, and really enjoy most of what I do, so busy is a good thing :-)

  • @jcmegabyte So you're running around, checking on catapillars, making sure the cameras are safe from the weather and squirrels and racoons, switching memorycards(and still mixing them up), documenting the old fashoned way with pen and paper and getting a peanut butter sammy if you're lucky. Or a partner that feeds you and likes bugs and doesn't mess with your stuff. A clean up can be deadly. I have 2 beautiful, smart daughters...

  • You pretty-much nailed that one! XD

Storage is definitely an issue, and I back up regularly, too!. Fortunately, 1 Terabyte hard disks aren't too expensive. I empty the 4GB SDHC cards as soon as they fill, usually after each 1500 to 3600 frame sequence. One in the camera taking pics, one emptying out in the computer, and a couple of "spares" in case of a bottleneck. It gets really interesting when I have 2 or 3 cameras going at once! :-)

  • @jcmegabyte memory cards by the case and a zillon external hard drives or lots of "Delete"

  • This sequence was shot at about one frame every three seconds with a digital camera. Those frames were then assembled into video, resulting in a speed-up of about 90x. This 24-second video represents about 75 minutes of real life motion. :-)

  • What was the full length of the video before edit?
