is this official site of google webmasters ???
i don't believe that google analytics is not used for search result ranking. cause it's quite illogical - u have on analytics probably the most valuable data of the quality of all pages in the site and u don't use it?

Hard to believe but probably true.
I would rather rephrase the question:
Would the data used in Google Analytics help to create more accurate algorithms used for "Search Quality"?

HUH??????

Sure the data itself from GA is not used, but some how your counting clicks from desktops because that is essentially how personalization works.

I think some true transparency needs to come soon on how much analytics data (doesnt matter if it is not coming from GA) is used to help decide what sties rank above others.

@incrediblehelp Huh is right. What do you mean clicks from desktops? Clicks from Google's search results can be tracked with cookies and it's the cookie info that's used for personalization. If they were using GA for personalization then GA would have to be installed on every single website which obviously isn't the case.

that's great to hear Matt but we, the end user, are going to have to take your word for it. There's no way for us to know if that is true.
