URI professor Judith Mercer talks about the benefits of delaying umbilical cord clamping for very low birth weight babies. Delaying for just 30-45 seconds at birth causes less bleeding in babies' brains, and fewer infections, and the babies nursed better, were warmer, and cried less.
Perhaps one day this professor will join the chorus to support the Physiology of labour and birth rather than talk about such moves as"intervention(s) "??
