2009 USBC Nationals
Ball: The Sauce
Oil: Broken Down
Score: 641

I used the "cheater" board all tournament long as my break point. As the lanes began to break down I did not move fast enough and luckily got some great breaks not splitting.

  • First off, great bowling. Second thanks for sharing. I agree that you didn't move left fast enough... It seemed like you increased speed instead of moving. At the end I bet you could have been 3/3 left and had a great look. You might have risked a weak ten, but no more nose hits. Maybe even 4/2 or more to really open up the lane. Timing here was much better than doubles - feet got really fast a few times. Ever try a fifth step?

    Thanks again!

  • After Doubles, I "shelled" down to The Sauce from The Virtual Gravity. Of course with no practice in between sets I used my best guess to line up the first game.

You are most likely 100% correct about moving 4/2 left because I told my doubles partner to do that and he started striking.

I have never tried a 5 step delivery but after looking over this whole trip I did see that my main hang-up is my timing. It looks like at times I am late and my feet get off kilter and I need to address that.

  • the lanes definately didnt transition as fast as you think they did. Your exit point varied by more than 5 boards between your quality shots and shots that differed. Nice video though, i bowled through that shot as well so i know the pain. I did well but i could have done better.

  • I respect that you post your bowling for everyone to see- most people wouldn't

  • You don't get nearly enough extension on your slide step- probably why you pulled so many shots when you had a large pocket to the right. Your follow-through is really short and inconsistant- come all the way through your shot with your elbow, not your hand. You had a big pocket. Too many modern bowlers want to say they didn't move soon enough, or the lanes broke down. You threw several weak shots, dude. Just sayin'. Keep firing

  • When you re a lil bit left of the mark the ball goes pocket.. when your right of it it goes nose...

  • you throw the ball almost exactly like I do. Its like watching myself.....good bowling though

  • the lanes did not transistion that fast, you just werent as accurate as you thought you were.

  • I want to thank you for sharing your footage with us. I bowled in the USBC Open Championships for the first time last March. It was a learning experience. One of the things I need to do is learn to hook it more and play deeper angles. With my current game, I'd be leaving 5-8-10's all day if I played the angle you played. I do want to wish you the best of success in all future tourneys!

  • try working on extending your arm some shots that went high were because you short-armed the ball when you threw it

  • nice bowling dude and good advice on the five step approach richartm1
