Amazing video of multiple tornadoes including one that crosses the road less than 200 yards from my viewpoint. Beautiful storm structure and tornadoes. The tornado crossed State Road 34 just west of Howes, South Dakota by a church. I later noticed a small tornado to the right of the main tornado at 3 minutes 2 seconds. I saw several tornadoes with this storm. This video was shot in HD and is available for licensing.

  • Thanks for all the nice comments. It was an wild chase day that started with low expectations due to fast northerly anticipated storm motion. I think I was in 80-90 mph (guestimate.) I was unable to open or even move the driver's side car door due to the wind.

  • Wonderful !

And most of all, thank you for staying quiet (and not yelling every second) in front of this incredible force of nature.

  • @Lemminka

Thanks. I make an effort not to talk too much or curse while filming. I prefer a more natural sound. It has taken a few years and several tornadoes to learn to be more quiet.

  • How strong was that inflow you were in? It's got the whole car shaking!

  • @phild1087

The inflow was strong enough that I could not open my driver side door. I would guess 70 to 80 mph but I had no way to monitor windspeed.
