Agreed.............DUNE is one of those films where its better to let it just wash over you and enjoy it rather than anaylse it too critically. They did their best with what was deemed an unfilmable plot.

The TV miniseries was more true to the book, but the movie had a lot more of the feel and flavor, not to mention an awesome soundtrack.

Of course no adaptation is going to be perfect for such a book as Dune, so seriously guys, just enjoy the movie for what it is and stop complaining
