Part one of the NOVA's "Bible's Buried Secrets" which I've edited so it'll be as short as possible without leaving out any important stuff. (Please note the links below for more information).
The film itself presents the latest archeological scholarship from the Holy Land to explore the beginnings of modern religion and the origins of the Hebrew Bible, also known as the Old Testament. This archeological detective story tackles some of the biggest questions in biblical studies: Where did the ancient Israelites come from? Who wrote the Bible, when, and why? How did the worship of one God - the foundation of modern Judaism, Christianity, and Islam - emerge?

  • To Joniversity: I'd prefer that you had'nt edited these videos.

  • @DystopianEmpire01 Well i wanted to make it as short as possible.

  • @DystopianEmpire01 I understand that. What did you remove exactly?

And thank you for the response BTW : )

  • @DystopianEmpire01 Mostly dramatic music with nothing happening. But also removed parts that i felt were redundant (like when the narrator says exactly what an expert just said) and a couple of of drill-downs that were an over-kill.

  • @Joniversity I guess they were aiming to drive the point home, it's a long show and we do have short attention spans. ; D

  • @DystopianEmpire01 Short attention spans indeed. I didn't subtitle my channel "soundbite culture" for nothing...

  • What inconsistencies?

Noah let BOTH a raven AND a dove out of the ark. The raven (unclean) didn't come back - it could land on carrion. The dove (clean) came back. What's the problem?

2 and 2 cf sevens. No big deal. Again, clean vs unclean.

40 days and 40 nights of deluge. 120 days the waters rose on the earth. Discrepancy? Come on!

For one thing, if the 'writers' were making up or adding to the stories, surely they would be consistent.

    Misunderstanding not inconsistency.

  • There is no "Palestine" or "West Bank". That's Judea & Samaria, Israel's ancestral heartland and homeland.

  • Yay! Dr. Redford!

  • @mikezilla3 you know nothing. your falsifiable claims prove your ignorance and that the source you got your "research" from was a stupid source. i'm gonna troll through your videos to see what stupid things you've been researching. probably some conspiracy theory crap and other videos made by idiots who are scared to walk outside because the government and aliens are watching. oooh, scary!

  • @Samael51760 facts according to who that's the thing you think i care about pleasing men i know the facts and i know the rulers of his world are pure evil and lie to us on the daily i don't have to prove anything cause i know the truth whether you think i do or not who cares and you said my daddy told me these things well i researched them myself so don't even comment back because i don't like talking with ignorant people and i wont even look at your comment bye

  • @mikezilla3 BTW. Try using facts to back up your claims the way NOVA does. Many of your claims are nothing more than falsifiable hypothesis with no real evidence. Examples of these would be: "Hebrews are cursed" and "Synagogue of Satan." Which I would circle in red pen to make you feel like the stupid student in class if I could. Satan himself is an example because you can't prove he exists either. Just like I can't prove that Odin or Thor or the Giant Purple Ass exists. Use facts next time. OK.

  • @mikezilla3 Just because your daddy told you all those hateful things doesn't make it true. You should rely on archaeology instead of just parroting the crap some idiot infused in you! The Hebrews are cursed? Come on dude! Who says that?

  • Hey joni... la gente esta muy loca :DDDD
