That's the name given by SAIC, but at the time of development the re-jigged block was referred to as K2 - as well as featuring the improved oil-rail, MLS gasket and PRT thermostat, Euro 4 emissions was achieved and a new set of semi-auto boxes were being tested. It's a pity they were never given enough money to really go to town. As far as I understand it - under Chinese control they have - They've even been able to use new materials.
