  • This may sound foolish, but what would be the purpose of doing this unless the x1 slot ran at x8 or x16?

I had it muted, didn't hear if you mentioned if you had two cards in there or something.

  • @ComputerNoises

i myself did it so i could run video to my hd tv and still run dual monitors. It was a free workaround. i dont think it would work for gaming, but so far it works great for an extended desktop. i have a hd4870 that runs my monitors.

  • Ye finaly did it, afther reading Zorinaq blog, realise that you have to conect A1 pin with the B17 pin on x1 slot. Bad thing is that my 8800gt droped to x8 and lost the physx.Hoever know I'm able to use the s-video of my hd3450 & know it works even on AV1 not only on AV2 & if I use only the x1 cARD THE PC CAN STILL DETECTS MY ONBOARD NVIDIA CARD, my only regret is that I didn't buy a dx11 card, I buyed a 8800gt specialy for a s-video that it's not working.

  • @KEEVVY

good to hear you got it working. the card you are using is more advanced than mine. maybe thats why you have the difficulties. you can let it run on the standard windows driver. i think your problems with the nvidia card are probably because of the ati drivers and whatnot.

  • so if I put a x16 video card in a x1 it will work at the same time with a nother x16 video card, saying I wanted to use a hd5770 for the monitor, and my old hd3450 for the s-video on tv , will this work?

  • @KEEVVY

    should work no problem.

  • i like your monitor setup haha

  • @boomer5901 not a dumb question at all. and yes. it will work just fine. :)

  • @00whynot Ok I putted a hd3450 in the x1, afther carfully melted that end of the slot with my letcon, and I have a 8800gt in the x16 slot. The 8800gt is working ok, but I can't detect the hd3450, even if I try to install the ati driver it only installs the control center, do I have to do something in bios or any special detection of divice?

  • @ModernRailways could always try one of these if you dont want to do any actual modding ebay number 280705521057
