From KETC, LIVING ST. LOUIS Producer Jim Kirchherr highlights the life and career of Harry Gibbs who died in 2008 at the age of 91. Gibbs became a household name in St. Louis for his role as Texas Bruce in the after school show, the Wrangler's Club. Kirchherr had the honor of inducting him into the St. Louis Television Hall of Fame in 2007.

I was on the show with our CubScout den. My sister was to take a picture of the TV when the camera got to me. Got home and took pics of random stuff just to finish off the roll, so we could take the film to get developed. I've still got that pic, shows a TV with such a glare on the screen from the flash, that's all you see. Great memories...RIP Texas Bruce

My mom took my brother with the cubscouts to appear on TV and my dad and I watched and everyone in our neighborhod came to our home to talk to my mom to find out how cool it was to be on TV. Thanks Texas Bruce for making our lives so """special""" then during the truly GOLDEN years of TV! I won a bicycle on the Wrangler's Club in the late 50s'. We had to draw a larger picture of the Eskimo face on the Eskimo Pie wrapper. I was on the show & "Texas Bruce" presented the bike to me. I rode it to school for several years before I passed it on to my brother. Anyone else enter the contest?
