Goldust in '02 was not a surprise return. they played video packages for him several times leading up to the RR that year. i head Malenko was supposed to come back to wrestle Benoit at ONS '06, but Benoit decided to take time off around that time.

i wish Mark Henry would go the fuck away! he's been there 14 years and never drawn a dime!

i also wish Orton would go away forever. since all he does is stare at everyone / everything. i wish he was staring at an unemployment application instead.

@pchavez1981 Correct(about Goldust), but to clarify, I was at the Smackdown where his return, along with The Godfather & Mr. Perfect, were all announced(1st Smackdown of 02, from MSG), and none of those were leaked ahead of time, so until they were announced, nobody knew they were coming back, so I apologize if I confused the two because yes, by the time he actually made that return it was advertised, but the announcement weeks before was a huge surprise.

@WrestlingRoundtable you are correct about that then. i remember that SD too and the announcements of those returns were huge surprises. especially since i had very limited access to the 'net at the time.

no comment about my comments about Henry and Orton? i think they are great picks to go away and never be seen again. they both have the charisma, mic skills and wrestling ability of a tin can. and i reach for the remote every time i see either one of them.

@DevoJetBoy You are correct. I was referring to his heel turn & subsequent feud with Bret Hart which happened in 94, so I made that error. Thanks.

when triple h was injured in 01' he cane back to be the most over if anyone...cos having soneone away makes u realise how great they were...thats when austin.started becoming a bit irrelavant...that and the invasion

2001 worst comebacks...

"Grandmster Sexay" Brian Christopher. The bad story of King vs Cole was horrid as is, but throw a GMS return in which he got little to no pop? BS. Same with the Slammys. I mean damn it, Goldust returning from injury (becoming involved in the Cody/Booker fued to set up a brother vs brother storyline), Masked Kane when it was thought he would never remask, a breif Lita appearance, freakin' Road Dogg now as a roadie again...and the Virginia crowd was deader than shit!
