Cathay Pacific A340 Hard Landing in Hong Kong

As a pilot myself, and a passenger on this flight (who know better than all you audiences), I've noticed that the pilot of the flight attempted to bring to a smooth touch down by "flaring", he tried twice and failed due to poor height judgment, and eventually the main gears of the aircraft suffered as the aircraft banged onto the tarmac.

I wouldn't say that was classed as a hard landing - it was fairly firm though. Any number of factors could have caused that landing to be firm such as wind.

The fact that I held the camera firmly had made the shock impact less observable on video.

everyone reakons the pilots buggered up the landing if your not used to a airbus, the main gear touch down is a far different sensation

There is a saying amoung pilots. you can walk afte landing is a good landing, if you can use the airplane again it is a perfect landing

lmao!! last year i've been in a harder landing in australia. i was holding a water bottle and was drinking, didnt kno it would be this hard and the water went into my nose instead =/
