Billy Thorpe & The Aztecs performing "Be Bop A Lula" live at Myer Music Bowl 1973. Thorpy certainly amped up this 50s Gene Vincent classic into a hard rockin blues jam, excellent work!!!

  • This isn'tt the Myer Music Bowl. That was a free Easter daytime concert, I was there.

  • The Master at work... Brilliant

  • Memories of the bowl.....Ringwood Town Hall etc.......and my Monaro.

    R I P Billy Thorpe

  • Aztecs were so loud back then. Killed the fish at Bondi Life Saving Club? I remember as a 14yo guitarist watching Leo De Castro and Friends up close at the local dance and was mesmerised by the big Strauss amp and Cry Baby wah wah. "Santa" bought me a Cry Baby that Christmas. Still can't imagine my Dad shopping for it haha. Life was so easy then, great times.

    amazing album.

just amazing, easily stands up to the greatest live albums like the Allman Brothers at the Filmore and MC5 Kick out the James.
