Concorde was a thoroughly politically incorrect aircraft. And, it represented an apex in human engineering. That alone should tell us something. Will the West continue to boldly experiment and innovate--or will it succumb to the stifling of imagination? Technology like Concorde is born of a daring spirit. That's the spirit we need to encourage.

There is a great Concorde exhibition at East Fortune Scottish Museum of Flight well worth a visit just for Concorde, however lots of other exhibits which could take up most of your day.

@lakeseminole I wouldn't and neither would lots of businessmen who can't afford private jets

I'd rather take 2 hours longer to get there in larger seats, great meals and continous cocktails.

@TheMattlockyer Saw a doco on the concorde some months back on either the History channel or Discovery and it was flippen interesting, Correct me if I'm Wrong as I cant quite remember as it was a few months back wasnt it a anglo-french connection with the concorde only flying under Air France and British airways with only 20 air craft built, shame it's not in service any more I would have loved to have a fly in one just for the fun of it (that and the British side of it since I'm half british)

THe only plane that really beat this for top speed was the lockhhed sr71 blackbird and that was complete ballet for tons of people to even get it off the ground. This was pretty ahead of its time.

0:45 ... LOL

@ 53: I think the USAF. SR-71 blackbird will destroy that speed record for crossing the atlantic.

I Think its quite ironic that Concorde is displayed in the United States when they did so much to restrict it. My father worked on concorde in Bristol in the late 1960's on the fly by wire systems. I only ever drove past the airport with him once, but he pointed out the perimeter fence and told me that when they were testing the engines they underestimated the power and blew the perimeter fence across the road.

Great Video hahahaha
Very Nice! - She is standing direct on the Ground, not in a "Start - Like Position" as in Sinsheim (Germany), no Crowds of People, and the BA - Interior was so or so more beautiful than the Air France.

i just want to say you, it was 1969-2003, not 1976-2003. it was a beutiful airplane... i just love it!

@iamseby13 Thank you for watching all the way through. Yes, it is true that Concorde was first flown for testing and development in 1969. It began flight service for passengers in 1976.
