Flooding in the outer eastern suburbs of Melbourne.
Ferny Creek which is generally a dry creek bed (in some areas) has overflowed and flooded a couple of local streets. Burwood Highway was also closed off, while the last piece of footage shows that Ferny Creek is not a gentle little creek after 100mm of rain fell in the past 24 hours.

  • I'm a little lazy in checking and maintaining my gauge properly but I know there was at least 100mm around my area in the past 24 hours. I haven't seen anything like this (other than in the news).

The local streets shown in this film are Waters Ave (excuse the pun) and Acacia Road. Willow Road was also flooded near Finmere Cresent at the time.

  • we had 160mm in Upper Ferntree Gully in the 24 hrs from 9am on 4th to 9am on 5th. Most fell after 7.30pm . It was measured from my neighbour's gauge - we are just off the Mt Dandenong Tourist rd.
