A very touching film. Tragically, humans can become so isolated and shunned they become open to social mobbing and mistreatment. Why people do this to those who are different is a mystery of our darker nature. I grew up near such a lady thought to be a "witch" and she was treated with suspicion and cruelty by the ignorant. In reality, this "fate"could happen to anyone. I wish her spirit well.
This is a really good film. I like the narration. Has that perfect, awkward feel to it. Makes it more creepy. Do you have more films you just haven't put online?
There is a great new biography out about Mary entitled Mary Nohl Inside & Outside. It has over 300 photos of her sculptures and the interior of her house. It is also not known by many that Mary left. $11.3 million to the Greater Milwaukee Foundation to further arts in the community.
we used to drive by all the time with that same stereotype of her being a witch...so sad now that I know it was untrue. Poor lady, I bet she was really sweet!

She was a nice lady... I used to go by her house and admire the work a lot when I was younger.

I don't see her life as sad, but a silent cog of a much greater machine. even the unseen exist, and even nothing is something.

Wow!
Thank you for sharing! I still drive by her house often just to look at it.
