Here's a tip that will help you from accidentally damaging the head gasket when you put the rear head on a transverse engine. We usually attach the exhaust manifold to the head before setting it on the block. This can make it a little off balance.

  • Slot the top with cut of wheel or die grinder soo you can use a flat blade screwdrive to get out easy.

  • it has auloum heads with cast iron block so it makes the car junk chrysler minivan did that in 84

    I have placed a thin flat boards on each end of block over the gasket in case the head get's away from you it will land on the boards and not the gasket. Slip them out one at a time and gently land head on gasket.
