Obama Addresses Deficit Critics

President Barack Obama says if he doesn't improve the education system and drive down the cost of health care that the economy won't grow at either his rate of 2.6 percent, or the congressional budget analysts' rate of 2.2 percent. (March 24)

Bush-era Republicans waged two wars without paying for them, showered tax breaks on the very wealthy, phased out the estate tax they want to end permanently, passed a prescription drug plan rigged to keep drug prices high by barring Medicare from bargaining for better deals, and passed an unpaid-for Wall Street bailout. What a record!

Bush, whom I did not vote for, created the deficit. But why does that make it ok for Obama to spend money this country does not have. If he's for a different kind of politics, then why is continuing what Bush started. I didn't vote for Bush, but 2 wrongs don't make a right.Any leftover stimulus money needs to be used to pay down the deficit.

I love how Obama supporters slam Bush for increasing the deficit when republicans slam Obama's spending. Bush isn't in office anymore but Obama is.

The deficit is now his problem, and two wrongs don't make a right. This nation will go bankrupt if this shit keeps up.

This man had the chance to be one of the great presidents of history. But in his first act of office, signed a so-called 'stimulus bill' that was so pork laden with new programs and spending that is added far more to the deficit than Bush had during his entire term of office. He should have vetoed the bill, and sent it back to take out the pork, like he promised he would, and then signed what we really needed. Instead, he's shown to be a simple clerk for the party elite, and signs anything.

Point No. 1 = keep the sheep distracted with trivial entertainments.

Point No. 2 = pass laws without giving people time to read them.

Point No. 3 = smile for the camera and say everything is cool.

Who would benefit from Universal Health Care?

It is funny that the word Catholic means "Universal".

Look at all the Catholic politicians that are pushing socialist policies.

Look at the Judas Priest Republican politicians and their deadbeat confrontations with Democrats like Boehner, Steele, McCain. They are Catholic, and we wonder why there is no Protest by Republicans!
