Scene 1: Kalaf, prince of a kingdom captured by enemies, arrives in the city of Peking.
Princess Turandot has all princes who woo her beheaded if they are unable to solve three riddles.
(3) The QueenMother of samarkand curses the place and huls the portrait of the deadly Turandot into the dust.. kalaf picks up it.

whats this?i thought turandot was giacomos puccinis...oh i get it ... someone else used the story to make an opera....puccinis is better...
