Actually, you compared him to Matt Cooke twice. But, who's counting. Sorry that you're so heartbroken now that Wildman Steve is in Denver. I hope you can make the adjustment and enjoy the rest of the season, including watching the Eastern conference playoffs...on TV. Be well!

@Fakename70 I said the changes he's made to his game are almost as dramatic as Cooke's. I never stated that Downie was the missing link for the Lightning or that trading him would have adverse effects for the Lightning's season. I've not compared him to anyone at all other than himself and how he's grown his game since the "Wildman" days. He's not that player anymore. If you think he is, you're the blind fool.

...and some fools are born blind. You make it seem as TB's entire season is lost now because Wildman Steve has been shipped out. And, comparing him to Matt Cooke hardly helps your argument. Neither should be considered the missing link for their respective teams. I just think you're reaching more than a little bit with your claims of Downie's "vastly underrated" offensive skills and "very high ceiling". Steve Downie? I wouldn't even put him up there with Clifford or Clowe.

As well you should have "cracked up laughing"! I can recall literally only 1 time when I said it --- as a kid --- but really, it sounds so stupid in response to the traditional slurs that have come my way. You know, the ones you think are meaningless, even though YOU haven't had to deal with them yourself. And, please tell me you aren't so naive as to believe "idiot" or "jerk" belong in the same category as certain other words normally reserved for gays & ethnic minorities.

@Fakename70 Government has instilled so many minority benefit programs and quotas to meet for big business in this country that Its easier to be hired for a entry level positions if you are a woman or a minority race. On the senor level I have seen minorities promoted over an overqualified white male for that simple fact....they were a minority and a quote needed filling. The minority is the majority in the country now. BTW Downie stinks. Go PENS!
