It's really not surprising that Michelle Obama would say what she said. It's a little reminiscent of when Halle Barry won her Academy Award and was in hysterics because she had "opened the door" for other great black women in her area of work. Here's MY issue though: pride is a symptom of arrogance and when somebody says they are proud, it often means that they feel a sense of superiority and THAT is dangerous no matter WHO is saying it.
