This is the second bass video from this album, Leprosy, that I have released. There will probably be one or two more since I enjoy this album so much. What can I say? Chuck Schuldiner was a genius, and the world is a lesser place since he is no longer with us. But he did leave one heck of a legacy behind.

This tune is kinda of special on Leprosy because it was a little more progressive than the other tunes....the drums are the real highlight of this tune. It was sort of a harbinger of what future Death would take (after they shook off some less-able musicians from their line-up).

Of course, much of this tune is so fast that there are some moments where I fall out of the pocket. That's the way the cookie crumbles. Also, the batteries on my camera were new, but the camera image still turned out a little fuzzy. Very strange, but I had already rubbed my arm raw from playing Iron Fist, so this one take would have to suffice.

By the way, for those that would like to know, all Death I know of is tuned to D standard. I get asked questions like that a lot. Here is some trivia. Terry Butler is attributed with playing the bass on the album, but it was really Chuck Schuldiner that did it. It seems a lot of bands had to do this in the 80s (W.A.S.P., Yngwie Malmstein). Must've been too much cocaine and JD floating around back then.

  • Shit mate, thats some good playing there (even though your out abit sometimes, but hey no1's perfect all the time) Love your work.

  • Yeah, I am still not perfectly clean on the really fast Death metal (it is driving me nuts), but I soldier on.

  • Why do all good Bass players die?,zodiakironfist you were a Great Bassist and a inspiration to me and Im sure lots of others RIP

  • @Jazzyak47 He does root notes in Six Feet Under but he break out every once in awhile. He does what is needed and is solid at what he does.

  • @Allmanfan456 well, maybe he got better then playing just root notes in Spiritual Healing. Sorry , never listened to Six Feet Under

  • @Jazzyak47 I know Chuck did. Butler doesn't suck I think. He's a solid bassist. By no means absolutely amazing but solid. He's good in Six Feet Under.

  • @Allmanfan456 Actually Chuck recorded most of the bass in Leprosy. Butler sucks.

  • @geragna He died quite recently, so his family are still grieving, but they're coping well. Rob's wife runs this channel now in memory of him.

  • @Spermwhales93 Oh, my bad. I thought 'Rob' was referring to Rick from Death. This was the only vid that I had seen from him.

My apologies. I hope his family is doing well.
