Art + Invention in San Jose

(February 19, 2010) How does a city become a vibrant arts center? What actions can government and private organizations to support the arts? How do we create a culturally engaged citizenry? Connie Martinez and Barbara Goldstein speak about their strategies to transform San Jose into a vibrant cultural center.

i understand the concept that art enlightens...but getting government involved in art? can you say "stupid"? Think back to the former soviet union...if your art wasn't according to their standards (the greatness of the soviet union) then it got burned and made forgotten. and if you think that this barbara lady is "impartial", well, then there is no helping you.
